The Creek

Muddy Creek is medium-sized and crystal clear. The water on our property is some of the shallowest on the creek and generally navigable by almost all ages. It’s also one of the few easy places to cross and walk the nearly 7 mile long abandoned Ma & Pa Ralroad raliroad trail. We also have a grassy little beach area, a tiny island and smooth rocks for catching some rays. Arrow Pine boasts 200′ of creek frontage with an elevation of about 100′ to the cabin.

Fishing

Great fishing can be found year round. Stream-born browns, holdover rainbows, and the occasional smallie is a typical day. Head upstream to hit the stocked water and FFO sections or drive down to Papermill Road for a good hike and intense rapids (seriously intense. look it up and be careful). Catch and release is preferred on our stretch when possible. Check flows and water levels here.

Tubing & Kayaking

We have lots of tubes, a couple of kayaks and life jackets available. Walk up to the end of the roand an put in or, drive a few miles upstream and drop in at Woodbine or Bridgeton Road for a 2-4 hour float back down our cabin. Flows and water levels can be found here.

Hiking

If you’re willing to get wet, you can wade across the creek at our place to find the abandoned Ma & Pa Railroad trail. Follow it upstream for a few miles to Woodbine Rd or downstream about a mile to an decommissioned bridge (and past an abandoned mill site).

For those looking to explore further, check out nearby Lock 12 & Mills Creek Falls Trail. or the Mason Dixon Trail and the mind-blowing falls of The Gorge (ask us about parking – sadly, there is only one spot where you can park without fear of ticket or towing).
